Changing Lives Learning Trust (CLLT) has been criticised by Ofsted after a monitoring inspection of West Lakes Academy, in Egremont, Cumbria, found "significant further work" was needed by leaders to remove its special measures classification, the BBC has reported.
The secondary school has previously been rated Inadequate.
The inspector said the trust "let the school down" and failed to provide "meaningful support" to staff. The trust was also found to have made financial decisions which meant the school was unable to hire teachers to fill vacancies.
The inspector also said poor behaviour disrupted learning at the school because the trust hadn’t helped leaders establish a consistent approach to tackling the "deep-rooted issue".
A spokesperson for the school said it had accepted the findings in full and added that "pupils and their families are entitled to better".
The school is being transferred from the CLLT to the Cumbria Education Trust.
